Family photographs... the dreaded get-together. Mom's want them, Dad's hate them and Kids can't sit still, but these images are something that will be treasured for a lifetime. It’s probably easiest to first tell you what a session with me is NOT: it’s not posed, it’s not formal, it’s not stiff, and it’s not what you’d typically expect. The most authentic images come from sessions that flow naturally–your family interacts while I just happen to be holding a camera. Whether it's the yearly group get together or your babe's first birthday, a family trip to the park or grandma's 100th- let me capture these images and let them last for a lifetime. Upon booking, we will collaborate creatively together to develop the story you want your images to tell. I have lots of ideas for session locations and I’ll also provide plenty of information on how to prepare, what to wear, etc, so don’t fret about that just yet. Outdoor Sessions:
I am open to just about any outdoor location…an old barn in your grandpa’s backyard, a cool brick wall you pass on your way to work, your living room couch thrown in the middle of a wheat field.  The sky’s the limit!  Speaking of the sky, we do need to take lighting into consideration.  During warm weather months, 2 hours before dusk is one of my favorite times to photograph…the light is heavenly!

I prefer to photograph families outdoors.  I find that everyone is more comfortable and happy when they have room to breathe.  And happy families=beautiful pictures!
